We corresponded some time ago - have new info on Philip - son of Edmund Edmondson & Jane Howerton.Lots of people tried to convince me that Philip died in Essex or Halifax Counties.He did not - he and wife Mary "Polly" Finch Minor died in Tennessee.Philip in 1850 in Bedford County, Tennessee and Mary in 1867 in Giles County, TN.Philip and Mary had at least 6 children and Mary with first husband Daniel Minor had at least 4 children.

This Indenture made this 14th day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighteen Between Philip Edminson and Polly his wife of the one part and Wm Miner of the other part" Witness that the said Philip Edmoondson and Polly his wife for _____ and consideration of the sum of ____ hundred dollars lawful money of Virginia to them in______ ______ by the said Wm Minor of these presents the reciept whereof is hereby acknowledged ______ bequeath + ______ + by these presents _____ of each of them doth bequeath ________ unto the said William Minor his heirs & asigns forever all this Interest in the Estates of Dan'L Minor and that is now or will henseforth become due with all profits ____ _____ ______ arising ______ henseforth & forever against the _____ of ______ the said Philip Edmondson and Polly his wife their heirs and asigns forever or any other person or persons whatsoever ______ _______ wherof are here unto set was _____ ______ this day _______ deed above _______.

Here is the marriage info from Halifax County:
Know all men by these presents that we Philip Edmondson and ___________ Jones of Halifax County are thus and firmly bound unto his excellency John Page esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia and to his _______ _______ in the_________ and _________ sum of one hundred and fifty ________ ________to the use of the Commonwealth To which payment will and truly given we bind ourselves our heirs (?)________ and severally firmly by this presents sealed withour seals and dated this 27th day of September 1804.

The Condition of the above obligation is such that where as there is a marriage intered to be solemnized between the above bound Philip Edmunson and Mary Finch Minor of this County.

Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, thus this obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.
