You are being a great help on my understanding of Edney family. In your 7/11 note, you mention "unknown" Edney between Jesse Lee and Newton.I can't seem to figure out who Jesse's father could be.In some information compiled by Limon Fortner in 1966, Newton Edney married Jane Smith, daughter of James and Carcus Smith on 20 May 1786 and married Rachel Dillahunty (widow), daughter of John and Catherine Roone.Allison married a Polly Dunham.Major Fortner says what you say: "Samuel Ednye, son of Robert Ednye, had the following sons: Newton and Leven, and probably was the father of Alson (who went to Tennessee before 1790, see Blount's Journal and Davidson County records, he was a neighbor of Newton and Leven) and Samuel (jr.) (who founded Edneyville, NC."
