Your information sounds comfused.I don't know anything about the first part of your message but I do know some about a Samuel Edney and Robert Edney.Robert Edney came to Camden Co. NC about 1725 or a little earlier, while it was still part of Pasquotank Co.It is in the northeastern part of the state. He had two sons and three daughters. His sons were Samuel and Newton Rencher. The birthdate and wife you have for Samuel sound right. We are not positive which son had which children but we do know that Samuel was the father of Samuel and Asa who both became Methodist preachers and moved to the western part of the state. There were a Robert and a John that we think were the sons of Newton Rencher.Samuel and Newton Rencher seem to have both had sons named Newton and in the next generation there were even more named Newton.John Edney (who we believe was the son of Newton Rencher) died before 1826 and his property was divided among his heirs at that time. His heirs were Sarah, wife of John Thomas Old; Charlote, wife of Nathan Wilkins, Chloe Edney, Mary (Polly) Edney (She later married James P. Marchant), Newton Edney, Samuel H. Edney, and John W. Edney.I know that James P. Marchant and Nathan Wilkins were in Dyer Co. Tenn in the 1850s.At least part of the boys probably also went west. The land that was divided among the heirs of John Edney was on Joy's Creek in Camden Co.
