Re: Edwards Family of Beaufort and Pitt Counties, North Carolina
Ok, I'm joining this conversation eight years later, but hopefully, some of your e-mail addresses still work and will get a notification about my message.
I descend from Emanual Sr. through his son, Elial. Elial's wife was Lovey, and I descend from his son, Harvey, who married Jane Holmes of Chocowinity.
Chocowinity and Vanceboro, even though they are in different counties, are right next to each other. In other words, it's not like you have towns far between them. Also, many families who lived in the vicinity of Vanceboro (once called Swift Creek, or noted as North Side of Neuse River on census records) had at one time or another lived in Beaufort County, usually Chocowinity.
The son of Emanual Edwards, Jr., William Henry Edwards, married a Nancy Morris. I don't know who her parents are, but I know that she was living in the household of Laban Morris and his wife, Caroline "Kitty" Williams from at least 1850, but likely from as early as 1830, because there is an extra girl in their household in the 1830 and 1840 census, and she was not their daughter. I'm working hard on the Morris family, and also am very interested in the Edwards family since I also come from them. Please feel free to contact me to discuss further.
