Re: Emanuel Edwards
This message comes seven years after your original post, but I was searching for "Emanuel Edwards" which is how I came upon it.
I do know about the Emanuel Edwards who died in the Civil War. He was the son of Elial Edwards of Beaufort County, North Carolina. Elial was married to Lovey ? and he was the son of Emanuel Edwards (b. abt 1750) and his wife, Elizabeth ?, also of Beaufort County.
The Civil War Emanuel was married to Nancy Morris sometime between 1860 and his death. They had just one son, William Henry Edwards (1863-1940).
Unfortunately, I don't have any information on Nancy Morris, other than I believe she's the SAME Nancy Morris who had been living in the household of Laban and Caroline Williams MORRIS in the 1850 and 1860 census records. We know she wasn't Laban's child because of her order in the census records, so I can only guess that she was probably a niece or something. I suspect she was living with Laban's family from about 1830, although I am only going by their being an extra girl in the household on the 1830 and 1840 census records that would've been the right age to be Nancy.
