Re: Emry and various spellings
We now have three Embrys who have performed DNA testing. If we can find Embree, Embury and Emry who would be interested in performing DNA testing we would be a be able to figure out if our lines are indeed linked. My dad's Embry DNA is I1.There is an Emery group at FamilytreeDNA.com where the groups markers for similar names are compared by markers and haplogroups to determine if they are related.
Prices start at $99. and if all the Emrys kicked and and asked the oldest male in the line to do the test it might work out best.It simply involves a vigorous scrub on the inside of the cheek with a q-tip.I've done it myself, it's a breeze.
If this appeals to you, check it out at familytreedna.com
PS- An interesting bit of info.Jean and Pierre Embry were Frenchmen who fought in the American Revolutionary War.There were from the area of France were the greatest concentration of Embry have historically lived, in the district of Aude.Did they stay and start families here, or return to France?
