Eliza Ennis b.~1852, New York
I am searching for information on Eliza Ennis, b.~1852 in New York City to Michael and Mary (Fitzgerald) Ennis. She and her siblings were orphaned (mom died, dad went to war) in the mid-1860's.Siblings are Michael (John?), James Knox, Mary (Mary Catherine or Kate?), George Clarence, and Annie. The boys went to Ohio on orphan trains but we've been unable to locate the girls.
I see a 17-year old Eliza Ennis in the 1870 Census, Cayuga County, New York living in the household of David Wood as a domestic servant, born in NY, both parents foreign-born.A perfect match to what we know!!
There is also a 17-year old Eliza Ennis in the 1870 Census, Hamilton County, Ohio living in the Chas. Avery household as a domestic servant, born in Ohio, both parents foreign-born.Other than showing born in OH, this is also a match to what we know.
If you have any information on these Eliza's or Mary Ennis b.~1858or Annie Ennis b. mid-1860's, please post a reply or contact me.
Thank you!!
