After many challenges and delays...The 2011 National Epperson Reunion is set for Saturday, October 1, 2011, at the Ulmer Community Room in Carthage, Missouri. The building is behind the Ulmer Funeral Home at the corner of Garrison Avenue (Rt. 571) and Macon Street.People start arriving around 9:30 a.m.I was told there are tables and chairs for 50 people, a bathroom, sink, refrigerator, microwave, as well as air conditioning and/or heat. It also has a ramped entrance.
The reunion is open to everyone connected in any way to any Epperson family line. We have several lines represented every year and people from many different states. Some of us bring genealogy materials, but more importantly, everyone has a good time visiting and meeting new relatives (no matter how distantly connected).
The potluck lunch usually starts around noon. Those of us traveling in from other parts of the country usually go to the park first and decide what to buy from the local deli's after we see what is already there.
I hope to see many familiar faces October 1st as well as lots of new faces too.
