A daughter of Henry John Smith and Martha Julia Epps, Srah Rebecca Flemming Smith was the third wife of my gggrandfather Ezra Ashby Hudson. I have that she was buried in Midway Presbyterian in Clarendon Co., SC. Another question. Is there a connection between the Epps family and the Jones family in the Kingstree/Sumter area. I had an uncle named Epps Jones. I know maiden names frequesntly became first or middle names of sons, a tradition I have passed to my own son.
