Three sons of Daniel Epps of Butler Co., MO lived in Denton Co., TX.
Some of the African-American Epps of Denton Co., TX may have been from 1857 estate settlement of Daniel Epps of Butler Co., MO.Robert Epps one of Daniel's sons lived in Denton Co. by 1843.Check the 1850 Butler Co., MO Slave schedules to see if ages and sex matched any of your ancestor.
Martin Epps moved to Texas in 1863.He had African-American's as part of his work force in Butler Co., MO.He had acquired the work force from the estate of his father-in-law Robert C. Appleby.Robert C. Appleby apparently was high percent Native American most likely Cherokee who moved to Arkansas in the 1820's.When the the turmoil of the Indian removal calmed down he moved north to Missouri.
Obadiah Epps live in Denton Co., TX by 1860 after returning from the California Gold Rush!
