Re: Epps of NH- Charles L. Epps of NH and IL
I am very grateful for your message.
Do you have any more information about the heritage of Nehemiah Epps and his wife Eliza?
I would love toknow more about the book, History of Francestown, NH.
I have a lot of information about Charles Lewis Epps that I would be happy to share if you are interested. I can scan a picture of him and one of his wife, Mary Malvina Greer Epps.
I also have a picture of his home, a 22 room mansion at the corner ofCass (now Wabash) and Chicago Ave. in Chicago. He died October 14, 1896 at his residence 346 E. Chicago. He is buried in Graceland Cemetary, Chicago.
His obituary indicates that hewas one of the original members of the Chicago Board of Trade. and a resident of Chicago since 1856.
He was also the proprietor ofC.L.Epps Malt House which was established in 1857.
His obituary indicates that he was married to Mary Greer of Baltimore, MD in 1866. His widow and his adopted daughter Etta (Mrs. George Foster) survivied him. Etta's daughter was my grandmother. Etta was actually the neice of Mary Greer. But my grandmother loved Charles Lewis Epps dearly and he washer grandfather as far as she was concerned.
