The following is the information you gave on this subject which I believe is incorrect: Posted by: Robert D. EppsDate: July 07, 2000 at18:03:10In Reply to: Larry Epps/Mary Mason 1866 Lincoln Co TN by Bob Overall of 746
Lawrence F. Epps (b. 1843 Lincoln Co., TN) m. 11 Nov. 1866; Mary M. Mason (b. 1843 TN)was son of James Craton Epps (b. 1810 TN -d. 188? TN) & Mary A. Norris (b. 1807 NC -d. 188?). Son: of Lawrence "Larry Epps") (b. 1782 or ?) m. ElizabethCraton (b. 1785 VA. -d. 185? Lincoln Co., TN) hen you are getting great free research STOP being a pain! Now would you get onthe ball and help us figure out where Larry Epps born in 1782 goes!Robert D. Epps

L. F. Epps on the 1870 census is the same as Lawrnce Epps on eh 1880 census. He lived in Bedford Co. and married Mary J. age 31 in 1880. Lawrence was listed as 37 in 1880. The census says both were born in Alabama. The kids were Fannie 6, Alice 4, and James 2 in the 1880 census. You stated above that he m. a Mary M. Mason. The Lawrence Epps of Lincoln
County son of James Craton Epps son of Lary or Laurence Epps is my dads grandfather. He married Mary Elizabeth Smith in Dec 1, 1871 and he was born Dec 2 1842 and died Nov 1, 1916. I have a copy of his death certificate.
Mary Elizabeth Smith b. Dec 14 1848 and died Nov 10 1912. They lived in Rutherford County at Christianan just a little north of Bedford Co. James Craton and Nancy A Norris were his parents. They had the following:Elizabeth 1837, James Craton Jr., John Norris Epps who married Florence Cole, Lawrence Epps who married Mary Elizabeth Smith,Frances or Fannie, and Joseph. Joseph lived with his big sister Elizabeth when he was 22 on her husband Alexander P. Clift's farm near Howell, Lincoln County, Tennessee. Well after all this I am still interested how the other Lawrence who married Mary J ? and lived in Bedford County fits in with the family. If you think there is a connection please let me know. good hunting!
