Let me give you what I have on this subject and you let me know if it is correct.James Craton Epps born CA 1810 In Fayetteville, Lincoln County Tennessee.He died around 1893. His father was Larey Epps Born 1782 and his Mother was Elizabeth Craton born 1795 in Virginia possibly Bedford, VA I have seen her name as Creighton.James Craton Epps wife was Nancy Ann Norris and she was born 16 September 1808 in NCShe died 6 May 1884 in Lincoln County Tennessee and is buried at Howell Unity Cemetery. Her father was John M. Norris and her mother was Elizabeth Forest or Forrest andshe is possible the grand daughther of Nathan Bedford Forrest according to Mrs. Ruth Morgan now deceased of Lincoln County Tn. I believe Elizabeth Forrest Norris second husband was John Crawford. Elizabeth died 1856 in LCT and was born 9 June 1788James Craton Epps and Nancy Ann Norris Epps had the following children...Elizabeth Craton born 1837 LCT and died 8 May 1855 in LCTHer husband was Alexander P. Clift.James Norris Epps Married 1 Hepsey Prosser 20 dec 1860 then Addie Fox 16 Sept 1875. James Norris was on trial along with 2 other men in Nashville for suspected killing of govt agents breaking up stills in the area. I have the court case. The judge was William Howard Taft who as we all know later became the President of the United States. It is very interesting and I will be glad to email to anyone that wants it. It is 26 pages long or so.... Died 15 December 1919 and is buried in Howell Unity Cemetery.John Norris was born 27 march 1841 in LCT and 1st Married 9 Oct 1871 to Sarah E. COle and 2nd Nov 2, 1875 to Florence Cole. John died 25 August 1929 in Lct and Buried at Unity cem at Howell.He was a conf solder pension 353 for 4 years 8th Inf. Tennessee. I think I have his records somewhere.Larrey F. was born 1842 LCTHe married mary M. Mason and she was born 8 Aug 1842. They married 11 November 1866 by S.W. Walker Justice of the Peace in Fayetteville,...Larrey had a grist mill on Manchester Highway outside of Murphreesboro TennesseeFrances Ann...FANNIEShe was born 19 march 1845 in Belleville Tennessee and married Daniel Franklin Moore 6 Jan 1870 in LCT and died 14 Nov 1931 and is buried also at Howell.Then Joseph Danwho Married Sallie F. Taylor He was born 1849 in LCT and married 26 Jan 1873 and Died 8 Jan 1892 and is also buried at Unity Cem in Howell TN.Here is some records I wrote when I was visiting Ruth Morgan Historian of Lincoln County Tn several years ago... Nancy Ann Norris was the daughter of John Norris who was the son of Ezekial Norris who founded Lincoln County Tennessee.It is 4:30 in the morning and please excuse any typing mistakes.
