Adell: son of Edward Eppes : TN & AL
Hello: Bill Eppes of Wynne, AR
Per 1910 Franklin Co., AL Census Sales/Cales Mill pg. 150
Edward Eppes age 41 b. TN married 20 yrs.
Ginny38 b. TN
Augesta18 b. TN
Clarence16 b. TN
Adell14 b. TN
Alice12 b. TN
Cecil9 b. TN
Eddy (girl)6 b. AL
???? (boy)4 b. AL
Jesse (girl)2 b. AL
Therefore ca. 1890 Edward Eppes m. Virginia Hopper somewhere in TN.They moved to Franklin Co., AL after 1900 where their "Epps Cousins" had been living since the 1840's moving back & forth between Franklin Co., AL & Tishmingo Co., MS
James P. Epps age 35 a descendant of Marvil's (b. 1788 NC -d. 186? AL/MS) lived at Red Bay, Franklin Co., AL in 1910; also.
The big question is parents of Edward Eppes. In 1870 TN there are two little Epps boys named Edward!
Anderson B. Epps (b. 1837 Williamson Co., TN -d.) m. 7 March 1866 Williamson Co., TN: Margaret H. Reams (b. 1846 TN -d.)In 1870 they had: Frank b. 1866; Edward 1868.
Peter Epps (b. 1835 TN -d.) m. 22 Jan. 1859; Hawkins Co., TN: Sarah Williams (b. 1841 VA -d.)In 1870 they had:Archie Mack b. 1862; Henry b. 1862; James b. 1864; Fanny b. 1865; Edward b. 1867; Anna b. 1868; Lida b. 1869.
Your Edward most likely is one of these two.It looks more like it would be Anderson B. Epps son but sometimes you can not tell without Family knowledge. It would be nice if someone in the Family could give you clues. We have information on both groups but are not 100% certain we could order all the generations for each back to Francis Epes I correctly. We soundex TN 1880 Epps but can not find it now in our ton of genealogy papers. We need to see who looks the best in 1880.There are no 1890 Census to look at.Where they lived in TN at 1900 also might help explain which one it was!
Can anyone HELP US?
