Could your John Erickson b. 1842, immigrated 1873, be also known as Jonas Erickson?Do you have any record of who John married?
I have a record of a Jonas Erickson married to Unk Olsen. They had a son, Arthur Erickson b. 1877 in Manistee.Arthur married Adeline Miller in 1904 in Manistee.Arthur would be my great-great grandfather.
