Anne ERNLE or Ernley who married Robert PARTRIDGE or Partydge was the only daughter, with three sons, of John ERNLE, Esq., of Bourton manor house, Bishop's Cannings, Wilts., by his wife, Mary HYDE, daughter of William HYDE, Esq., lord of the manor of Denchworth, Berks.
Anne's three brothers were
(1) Michael, of Bourton, ancestor of the ERNLE baronets etc. He was married twice, and left a numerous posterity, including the present-day PLUNKETT-ERNLE-ERLE-DRAX family, who are female line descendants of the ancient Sussex and Wiltshire family of ERNLE.
(3) Thomas ERNLE (d. 1595, PCC will), of Brembridge or Bremeridge manor, Dilton, Westbury (Leigh), Wilts. He married Bridget daughter of Richard FRANKLIN, and they had issue 14 (!) children. I descend from their eldest son, Thomas ERNLE (II) who married Praxed or Praxeda LAMBE, daughter of John LAMBE, Esq., lord of the manor of (East) Coulston, Wilts., by their only son, Thomas ERNLE (III), gent. (1614-1694; will Archdeaconry Court of Wilts., 1694, pr. 1695), of Braydon, Purton, Wilts., who married Jane daughter of Philip JACOBSON, Esq., royal jeweller to King James I (and VI) and his son, King Charles I, by his first wife, Elizabeth daughter of John (originally Jan) van Soldt, of London.
(3) Francis ERNLE (d. ca 1599, PCC will, 1599), gent., of Yatesbury, Wilts., who married Magdalen TOOKE and had issue 2 sons and one daughter. Further descendants unknown to me.
You can check out the earlier ancestry of Michael, Thomas, Anne, and Francis ERNLE, children of John ERNLE and Mary HYDE, on genealogics.org where I have submitted it to the database keeper, Leo van de Pas, of Canberra, Australia.
You may also be interested to read my wikipedia entry on the family under ERNLE, which I wrote under my wikipedia identity "vancouveriensis".
I am carrying out a one-name-study of the ERNLE (and variants family) from the earlier instances of the name as a surname ca 1166 (Luke of Earnley alias Lucas de Ernle).
I hope this is helpful to you.
