Thank you for your message. I haven't got any information on Anne Ernle, though I may have a candidate.
Anne Ernle daughter of Robert Ernle, of Chalbury, Dorset, was baptised there on 20 April 1646. She seems a bit old to be your ancestress, but I thought you might like to know about her. Have you any idea of how old she was when she died or was buried.
BTW, I have Rumboll relations who intermarried with my Purton (Wiltshire) Large family. Timothy Rumboll (1791-1873) of Grimstead, Wilts. married Susannah Large (1797-1855), daughter of Charles Large, of Purton by his wife Susannah Sadler, of Purton, at Purton parish church on 24 Sept. 1818. I am related to Susannah twice via the Larges and twice via the Sadlers as I have double descents from both Purton families.
Have you been to the Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office? Supposedly there is much unpublished material on the Ernle family gathered by the Rev. James Stoughton Money-Kyrle (1813-1852) for a book he planned, called "Stemmata Ernleiana". Unfortunately, he died before completing his plan. I learned about this after my return from England last summer.
