Erny, Erne, Earny, Erney, Arney, Erni and Earney

I am doing research on a Joseph Anton Erny who died in Lousiville, Kentucky, 1936.He was born of Joseph Anton Erny and Anna Table in Switzerland in 1850.I believe him to have traveled to USA around 1870.I do not know if his father and/or other siblings came to USA.I also do not know his first wife's name.I also have an inclination that he may possibly be the same Joseph Erny who appears in Pennsylvania in the late 1800's.Any possible information would be greatly appreciated.I know that there are some records of a Joseph Erny coming to American in 1880 and 1882...what about a Joseph Erne, Erney, Arney, Erni or Earney?
