Sarah (VanRensselaer) Erving, wife of John Erving
Seeking information on descendants of the family of John and Sarah (VanRensselaer) Erving.John married into the VanRensselaer family of Albany, N.Y. and established a farm in the Township of Watervliet (Now Village of Menands, Town of Colonie) in the vicinity of where the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society stands.Lands were all part of the Estate of Stephen Van Rensselaer.The last will of Sarah VanRensselaer was posted in the Surrogate Court of Westchester Co. N.Y. on Dec. 9, 1887.Son Killaen VanRensselaer and Montgomery H. Clarkson, executors. Will mentions four children:Killaen, Cornelia (V.R.)Erving, and
Catharine, and Eleanor.Will also mentions the "Shippan Property".Sarah also states her grandfather was Moses Rogers.Will also mentions estate known as "South Manursing Island, with a dwelling and cottage thereon."
Will also mentions "Rogers Silver", statue of Venus, and
