Mercy,

Thanks for writing.Vicente Ferrel was my great-great grandfather. He lived in the Embudo area along the Rio Grande. His son, Agapito Romero, was my great grandfather.I do not know what happened that my great grandfather used Romero instead of Ferrel. It could have been his mother's last name, or he could have been adopted/brought up by a Romero family. As for Vicente, I have been trying to find information about him and his whereabouts, where he came from, where he died, etc.I do not know if he came from Zacatecas.I know Ferrel is from the Irish surname O'Farrell, Ferrell, and all the variations.I would love to hear from anyone who may have even a trace of information about this Ferrel family from northern NM.Are you a Ferrel?Maybe you know more about this last name and families.

Thanks for writing and I hope to hear from you again.

Yolanda
