Re: Thomas Benjamin Eville
In the notes I took when Granny was alive, she said that Sam's wife was named Virginia or Jenny. And, I have some census records that might match some of the names you mentioned.I will work through these records and tell you what I have Mon. Eve.When I have found records on the Evilles, I most always keep them just in case.
By the way, my Granny was Elizabeth George Eville, daughter of George Walker Eville, son of Sam Eville. Both Granny and George are buried in the High Springs Cemetery in Alachua County Florida.George worked for the R.R. as a blacksmith shop foreman.Once when he went back to Palatka to visit the R.R. shop where he worked while in Palatka, there was an explosion and George lost his leg.I was not fortunate enough to have ever met the man, but the stories from people in High Springs lead me to believe he was a quiet, smart, and gentle person.I was fortunate enough to have lived in the house he and his brother built in High Springs.
