Re: Thomas Benjamin Eville
George Walker Eville, born in Ohio April 14,1871, moved to FL in 1879 with his parents. In 1890, he became a blacksmith for the RR in Palatka, FL.In 1896 he moved to High Springs, FL with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Becks, and son, Franklin Becks Eville. He lived in High Springs until his death on Jan. 23, 1932.He had 5 children.Franklin B., Harry Samuel, Ina, Elizabeth and Mary.Elizabeth was my Grandmother.Granny told me that her paternal grandfather was named Samuel and was buried in Palatka.I have a Samuel Eville buried in Palatka in my records. But have only assumed this was George W.'s father.I also know that there was another son named Robert. This Robert lived in High Springs at some point. He also owned property in Jacksonville. And, he lived in Alaska for years. He married a woman named Ina while in Alaska.I have more information on George and a little more on Robert.
As for Samuel, I have a Samuel born June 3, 1815 in Bath, Somerset, Eng., or Aug 20, 1825.Father was Thomas Benjamin and mother Matilda Bryant.I have a Samuel in a 1900 census for Putnam Co., FL age 50, wife was M. O. age 55, Alice (daughter) and Marrie (daughter)
I have a Joseph Eville in a 1900 Census for Putnam Co., FL.He was 49 years old.Living with him were Robert (age 45), Millie his wife, Bessie his daughter (age 9)and an A. F. Dent who was listed as servant.
I have some other Eville people, but rather than throw them all out at once and make things complicated, I thought I would see if any of this information makes sense to you.
