There was a very long street in Greenpoint Brooklyn called Ewan Street it was one of the main roads.In 1897 they changed the named to Manhattan Ave.The quote on the Greenpointusa.com timeline says1897-the stretch leadign up to Driggs Ave known as Ewan Strenamed to Manhattan Ave.I thought this might be of interest to one of your researchers.
