Hi Emily,

Luella Moore Irvin was my G2 Aunt, and the source for my Ewen info! When my grandmother's parents died, her Aunt Luella took her in.So Aunt Luella was more like my great-grandmother.I was rather young when she died, but I do remember her.I've been really touched to see how many people know of her and her research.

I'll have to have my Uncle or Cousins (in IN) check and see what Luella left to the Historical Society, and see if it's any different from the material I have (mainly, a photocopy of her handwritten journal, and some notes and charts she made for my grandmother).

I've been finding out a lot of stuff online, and working out some discrepancies in the info I inherited. At this point, we're trying to figure out where John Ewen/Ewins and Catherine Campbell came from.Luella's notes say they came over with William Penn (in 1682?).But not where they were from.Of course one assumes Scotland, but we just don't know at this point. And maybe it was just Catherine and Grandfather Campbell who came over at that point. We don't know where or when Catherine and John were married.

I'll try to get back to you with more info later. Thanks for writing!
