In the 1900 census for Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa(Roll: T623-423, Page: Sheet: 43B, ED: 29, Image: 85 of 88, 10th of July, Dwelling/Family: 897/957) shows Isabelle Ewers as head of household. She is 55 years old (July 1844) and married for 33 years. She has had 7 children and 6 are alive. She was born in Indiana, her father in Virginia, and her mother in Pennsylvania. She owns the house with a mortgage.Living with her are 2 children and a boarder.Harvey G. is 17 years old (Dec 1882) and Clara is 12 years old (Sept 1887).Both children were born in Wisconsin.Besse B. Broken is a boarder who is 3 years old (May 1897).She was born in Iowa, her father in Wisconsin, and her mother in Iowa.Harvey is a day laborer who has been out of work 6 months out of the last 12.Clara has been in school 9 months out of the last 12. I know this is not much help but if I find more, I will be happy to post it.Good luck.My line of Ewers are related several generations back to the same g-g-g-grandfather that George W. Ewers has on his line.
