The article was posted in the PENDLETON TIMES newspaper in Franklin, Pendleton County, WV.The date was July 30, 1998.I attended the ceremony, but do not live in the area.Christopher Eye is buried in a small cemetery labeledEye Cemetery #15, located on Dry Run Road (Rd. # 23), southeast of Franklin. The easiest way to get there is to drive south out of Franklin on Route 220, turn left on Rd. # 22 (Sandy Ridge Rd), turn left again on Dry Run Road. The cemetery is just past an area known as Mitchell and close to a stream called Stoefel's Run (named for Christopher Eye). It is on the left side as you drive south on Dry Run Road and is off the road a short ways. It is just before the farm located at HC61, Box 33.(This was the Ernest Propst farm in 1998).Youreach the cemetery by parking along the side of the road and then by walking across a private field up to a knoll. There is a fence around the area, and once you climb over or go through the gate, you walk a bit further to where there is an orange protective fence up on a hill which surrounds the cemetery. When I visited the cemetery alone, I obtained permission from the owner of the land before I walked across his field. In 1998 this was Mr. Carroll Kile, HC61, Box 34, Franklin, WV.
