Sharon, I too am descendent thru Laben.Morton's history listed a George as son of Christian---b. 1605, dy drown (meaning died young); however, have never found another George (checked all of Christian's brothers); another complication.....George was not listed in Christian's will (d. 1848 when George was listed in Pendleton Co. on 1850 census).I still believe this was our George. Could he have named another child George?
None of the children of George were in Pendleton Co. in 1860.Have never been able to find where Susanna who married John D. Harper went.Possibly George & Eleanor went with them. Eleanor (Nellie or Ellen) who had married George Phares also came to Washington County and was buried in the small graveyard where Laben and Racchel were buried. She had remarried Amos Bouse in Crawford Co.Reuben came to Wash. Co. to visit - I was told he lived in Ohio but have nothing to confirm that.Have newspaper picture of Laben, Eleanor and Reuben when he came there to visit.
Believe there have been reunions of one of the branches of the Eye family there, but not everyone. My grandfather was John Ace.I'm getting too old to make the trip there (or at least couldn't drive that far -- I live in Kansas).Wish you luck. Joyce
