Re: Eyes of Blair, NE and Iowa

I am a member of the Eye family of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, IA.This e-mail
is in response to you September 1998 post on genealogy.com."I would like to
make contact with any descendants of James (Jens) T. Eye of Blair, Nebraska
(1853-1936). His children were born in the 1880's. His sons were Louie Eye and
George Eye, and his daughters were Dagmar Eye Munk and Theodora Eye Olsen. I
believe his sons lived in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. I have lots of
information to share and would like to learn the family stories of that branch."

If you are stillinterested, my grandfather was George Eye, son of Jens Eye. My
grandfather had a sister named Dagmar.My grandfather, George Walter Eye, lived
in a rural area, possibly in Johnson County south of Cedar Rapids.He married
Bertha Spreng. At some point they moved into Cedar Rapids, Linn, IA, and had two
sons, Leonard Richard Eye and Milton Eye.Leonard was my father.

My grandfather had a brother living around Palo,IA, which is very near to Cedar
Rapids.There was bad feelings between the two (cause unknown to me) and I knew
nothing of him.

My grandfather's parents moved to Dania, FL, for a while before moving to Iowa.
My grandfather was a young boy there and remembered the wilderness and big fish
he could catch.
