Your grandfather JOHN OWEN FAIRCLOTH was born 31 Dec 1890 in Cumberland Co. and died in Fayetteville 1 Apr 1957. After he married Julia Cashwell (on 22 Jul 1914), he worked as a fireman for the City of Wilmington, NC in 1917 (don't know for how long) before he moved to New Bern. By 1936, he had moved back to Fayetteville and was working as a salesman for Evans Furniture Co. there and still employed with them in 1941.
John was a son of JOHN HENRY FAIRCLOTH and ELIZ JANE (Jane) McDONALD. John Henry and Jane had 11 known children. He was born in 1859 and died in 1933.
