Portraits of Capt. Rufus & Julia Fales, So. Thomaston, Maine, ca. 1850
The August 2012 issue of MAINE ANTIQUES DIGEST magazine on p. 3-B illustrates two portraits that were sold at auction of Captain Rufus Fales (1812-1858) and his wife, Julia Thompson Fales (1811-1892), of South Thomaston, Maine. The portraits appear to have painted about 1850.
Rufus & Julia's descendants should know of these portraits. I'm scanning the photo of them and will send a digital copy by email freely to any family members who wish to have them. The Photo was printed in black & white only on newsprint in the magazine (which is actually more like a newspaper), so they are not perfect copies of the portraits. Nevertheless, they are too good to be missed by the family.

If they were portraits of a 19th century family in my Pease family line, I'd very much hope someone would do the same for me.
