Faas deported to Virginia 1714
As the name Faa was sometimes changed to Fall the following may be of interest.
The "Directory of Scots Banished to the American Plantations, 1650 - 1775" by David Dobson contains the following reference;
"Mary and Peter Faa, Gypsies, prisoners in Jedburgh Tolbooth banished from there 30 November 1714. Transported via Glasgow on a Greenock ship, master James Watson, by merchants Robert Buntine of Airdoch, James Lees and Charles Crawford to Virginia Jan. 1 1715"
From another source I know some of the background to this incident if anyone would like more information.
Please note the e-mail link from my last message re. Johnnie Faa of New York was wrong.
