As far as I know my Farley line is not related but I thought I would see what I could find free online. The following seems as though it could be your line, but there are inconsistencies in birth dates.

Here is a link to a good website. You can click to browse the holdings, then scroll down to Philadelphia City Death Records, 1803-1915.

There is a death record for John Joseph Farley, d. 7 Oct 1904.He was born in PA, his parents b. Ireland.Unfortunately, it does not give their names.I read his age at death as 57 years, 3 months, 13 days.I did not try to calculate the exact date of birth, but it would be June 1847.

The following might be the family:

1900 Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, Philadelphia City.
John J. Farley, b. Jun (or Jan?) 1848 PA, married 30 years, parents b. Ireland
Mary E. Farley, b. Feb 1850, PA, gave birth to 6 children, 5 living; parents b. Ireland
John Farley, Jr., Aug 1874
Mary R. Farley, May 1878
Edward V. Farley, Feb 1880
Hannah R. Farley, May 1881
Jos I. Farley, July 1884 (Your posting history indicates a child name Ignatius Joseph Farley.Listing a middle name first in census records is not unusual.)

1880 Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, Philadelphia City
John J. Farley, age 33, b. PA, parents b. Ireland
Mary E. Farley, age 33, b. PA, parents b. Ireland
John J. Farley, son (age unreadable)
Mary Farley, daughter (age unreadable)
Edward Farley, son, age 2
Elizabeth Farley, daughter, age 3 mos.

The following is a maybe:

1870, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia County, Philadelphia City
Hannah Sulavan, age 64, b. Ireland, runs a boarding house
Mary Sulavan, age 21, b. PA, parents b. Ireland
Living in the boarding house included:
John Farley, age 22, b. PA, parents b. Ireland.

Using the 1850 census at the website I gave above I entered John Joseph Farley, b. 1848 Pennsylvania. The Search uses the year as approximate and will show a few born around that time. This seemed to be the closest:

1850 Pennsylvania, Moyamensing, Philadelphia County

Bernard Farley, age 40, b. Ireland, occ: mason
Edward Farley, age 15, b. Ireland, occ:mason
John Farley, age 3, b. PA
Michael Farley, age 5 mos., b. PA

I could not find this Bernard Farley after1850.I found others, but they were younger. The John J. Farley of the 1900 Philadelphia census had a son named Edward, and a daughter named Hannah. These were rather common names so there might be no significance, but it is interesting.

At least this gives some information to consider.Good luck as you continue your research.
