Rod, I do not have further information on Thomas Farley, b. 1805 PA, but do have a few comments to add.

You are probably an experienced researcher and my guess is that you have looked at the Thomas and Jane Farley line that came into Virginia in 1623.They had a very large family, including a son named Phillip, although this might or might not be significant.

There seems to be a concentration of descendants who settled in West Virginia.I have a copy of typewritten pages of a book published about 1945 outlining many of these families who were in southern West Virginia, including counties such as Summers, Greenbrier and other counties. The pages are not indexed but I looked through them to see if I could find any who were described as having wandered into PA.I did not find anything helpful. But since Thomas and Margaret Farley were in Cabell Co. WV, there might bea connection to the Virginia line.

Except for Phillip Farley I could not find any of your family after 1850.I found Phillip in 1870 in Chase Co. KS.Based upon birth places of children he was also in Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri.Since many families moved together, or moved where relatives were living, I tried to find a connection to these localities, again without luck.

You might have this but Findagrave has this entry:

Cabell County WV, Kyle Cemetery, A broken stone with only a part of it readable:

Margaret Wife of Thos Farley died Jan 5, 1852.

There was another Thomas and Margaret (Ferguson) Farley in Cabell County, but they were older, and it does seem to be well documented that Margaret (Ferguson) Farley died about 1846 in Oregon.

My gggrandfather, Thomas Farley, b. about 1790 in NC, was a descendant of Thomas and Jane Farley. He moved into Indiana, then across to Iowa.

If I come across anything that might be helpful, I will post a message.Good luck.
