Ancestors of Baillie John FARQUHAR of Aberdeen (ca.1721-1768

I have the honour to be a direct descendant of this fellow - he was one of my 4G Grandfathers - and I would dearly like to know more about his ancestors
That splendid monograph "A Short Memoir on James Young, Merchant Burgess of Aberdeen and Rachel Cruickshank his Spouse and of their Descendants," by W. S. Johnston, contains quite a lot of information in its Appendix R, but only suggests that his father was a William FARQUHAR, son of another William FARQUHAR - no mothers are named.
Surely someone has sorted out the relationships between all those 17th-19th century Aberdeenshire FARQUHARS?
Is there any kinship between Robert FARQUHAR of Newhall and my 4G Grandfather?
