I have seen the name Faunce Taylor, but have no info on him. What I have on the Codding family that lived in Ontario Co, NY is;

George Codding 1734-1816, married 1st, Mary Faunce b. 1734, in 1757,dau. of John Faunce and Ruth Sampson. George and Mary Codding had 2 girls that I know of, Ruth and Abigail. I do not know if Mary Faunce died, or left the family,but George married a second time to Sarah Thayer (1734-1818, and had the following, Burt, George, John, Sally, Faunce (1770-1810), and William T Codding.

Faunce Codding (1770-1810) married a Sarah Andrews (1781- 1869), and they had the following, Faunce ( 1800-1832), Stephen, George, and Icabod Codding. Many are buried at Vincent Hill Cemetery, near Bristol, Ontario Co, NY. Where they lived and died. There are a number of Coddings still in the area!
Why one would name a son by a second marriage from the first is interesting! For a little more go to the GenWeb, New York, Ontario County, and serach their web site.
