Re: Dr. Henry Todd/Apphia Bushrod Fauntleroy
Oh, I'm sorry.I meant to provide something I found, in reference to the children of Dr. Henry Todd.Unfortunately, this apparently handsome son died young....
Augusta Chronicle, July 2nd, 1803:"DIED, On the 14th ultimo, near the town of Sparta, in this state, Mr. THOMAS BERNARD TODD, son of Dr.Henry Todd, formerly, of Virginia. - This young gentleman man was born to prospects more flattering than those that commonly fall to the lot of man ; and but for the early death of a father, and the over fondness of a tender and affectionate mother, his life would have been highly honorable to himself, and beneficial to his country. His heart by nature was formed for conviviality and philanthropy, and unaccustomed to restraint, (so necessary to youth) he, at too early a period of his life, associated himself to the cheering glass, which in this instance, as in every other one, disarms a man for great performances. As his vices were very few, and his virtues many, then let the former be immersed in the latter - and may his soul live forever!"
