Re: Mary"Polly"Ford -Indian attach - her life after
Hello, anyone still there. Mary "Polly" Ford(Faure) was my gr-gr-gr grandmother. Our history goes the attack was by a hostile tribe and she traded/sold to the Miami tribe. She was about 8 years old. When she came of age, she first married a canadian frenchman, he died, she then married Little Turtle, they had 3 children, Sweet Breeze, Black Loon, White Loon. Chief Little Turtle was friendly with the white man and wanted peace. He, Mary and the youngest boy (don't know which one yet)were at the fort/trading post??(don't know name yet)and her family kept her and the boy there. The chief stayed for several days trying to get them to release her, but they wouldn't. He had to leave??She was then forced to marry John Lawson Prewitt/Pruitt/Pruett? They had other children. My Gr-Gr Grandmother Mary Polly Snow Prewitt was one of these children,Born February 3, 1820 in Madison Co, Kentucky,Died at Paris, Monroe Co. Missouri. She married George Washington Sebastian.
