Hans Faust B:1611D:2 Jan 1679/1680 married twice:
(1) Elizabeth Fischer B: 1620D: 1653--they had 6 children: Maria Elizabeth, Johann, Werner, Giel, Andreas, Hans,Jr.
(2) Kunigunda Gaul--they had 5 children
For your information--Johann B: 1643 was the son of Hans and Elizabeth
Johann married Kunigunda Mohn in 1666 and had 11 children.The youngest one was Johann Peter FaustB: 1689D:1745
Johann Peter married twice:
(1) Magdelena Adam(They had 1 child--Philip)
(2) Ann Elizabeth Graul (They had 6 children)
One of the 6 was John C. Peter FaustB: 1719D: 1789
John C. Peter married Rosanna Barbara Albrecht
My understanding is John C. Peter moved to the Carolinas where the name Faust became Foust.I don't recall hearing of a "split" between brothers, so I can't tell you the story.My Faust branch stems from the brother of John C. Peter--Philip who married Elizabeth Rack.I've been researching this family for a few years and understand your confusion considering all the "Johanns and Johns".From which "branch" are you descended? If I can be a further help, let me know.It is always exciting to hear from a "Faust" connection.
