Re: Fawcett of Tadcaster & Horsforth.Yorks

Hi

I have the marriage of Harry FAWCETT Smith (or Smith Fawcett) to Mary Ellen Dobson in 1907 in Horsforth.

Extensive searching leads me to believe Harry was the son of Thomas Fawcett who married Hannah Kaberry, Thomas being one of Benjamin'schildren with his first wife Hannah Elizabeth Smith.I also believe that Benjamin married three timers
i Hannah Eizabeth Smith
ii Sarah Ann Green
iii Eizabeth Whittaker.

This llinks the Dobson family of Casteford and Rothwell to the Fawcett family of Horsforth.

I also have links to another branch of Fawcetts of Fewston, Darley, Hamthswaite, knaresborough and Horsforth, Guiseley and Yeadon, and I wonder whether the Horsforth Fawcetts are distant relatives of the Fewston Fawcetts.

I have traced the Horsforth Fawcetts back to John b 1770 who married Elizabeth Cowell in 1795 in Kirby Overblow and I think John originated from Tadcaster.

Any informaton about the Horsforth Fawcetts welcomed, and if happy to share what I have about the other Fawcett branch which is researched back to 1650.

I am interested in Fawcetts in the area as until my marriage when I moved to Wakefield I lived in Yeadon.
