Mrs. Julia Fay, a former resident of St. Charles, was born March 2, 1827, and died April 3, 1903, at the home of Frank Cook of Lily Lake. She was married to Edwin Fay in April 1847 and was the mother of four children, one dying in infancy and two daughters in young womanhood. One son, George Fay, of Freemont, Neb., survives her.
She was converted at her father's family altar and grew in Christian graces an experience of faith to the end. She was of a modest and timid disposition, but wsa fearless and courageous in relating her Christian experiences. She had been in delicate health for a great many yeas, and the sorrow and lonliness of losing her children had borne heavily upon her. She has made her home with her sister, Mrs. C. Read, of Lily Lake, for a number of years, but spent a goodmany of the summer months among friends.
Her funeral services were held at the church in Lily Lake on Sunday, April 5. ----------- I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information.
