I am researching the possible FAY - WATROUS (Watros) connection in the early 1800s in the Tioga, New York area. This may be a long-shot but uses the naming conventions of the time. My GGGF Walter Conklin married Rosetta Watrous (Watros) about 1815 in Owego, NY. Their first son Albert Conklin named his sons Henry Watrous Conklin and Paul Fay Conklin. This may be honoring his mother's family name (Watrous) and his grandmother's family name (Fay). That would place Walter Conklin and Rosetta in the Owego, New York area around 1830-35, both having been born about 1816. My assumption would place the WATROUS and FAY families nearby in that area. There may also be a Connecticut connection. Anyone with knowledge of these families with close ties during this time please let me know the details.
