I am trying to extend my family tree. I have a Violette "Lettie" Figgins who was born 1817 in Ohio. She married Robert Vance in Iowa. I see in the 1850 census for Lick Creek, Davis Co., Iowa that Violette's family is listed right above a Willis Figgins (b. 1795, Kentucky). Could this be Willis Feagans, son of Capt. Daniel Feagan? This census does not show a wife for Willis, but the children listed are James (b. 1830 Ohio), Susan A (b. 1832 Ohio), William (b. 1835 Ohio) and Sarah J (b. 1838 Ohio). Also listed in this census on the next page is Daniel Figgsins (b. 1817 Ohio) and wife Elizabeth (b. 1826 Ohio), with children Willis (b. 1848 Iowa) and Daniel (b. 1850 Iowa).
I have seen listed on Ancestry a large "Feagan" family with similar names. Also, Captain Daniel's wife was a "Violette "Lettie" like my woman, so I figure there must be a link there somewhere.
