What is the FEENEY history
Ashley Feeney 6/09/01
The name is O - Faine - Nah (Soundex)
The majority of the Feeneys orginally come from Sligo and now from Co Galway ... if you went out the coast road from Galway city approx 8 miles to Furbo and for the next 15 miles to Tully Cross every third house would be a Feeney house ... there are simply scads of them there and most claim not to be related to their neighbors (folks across the road) but they're all related if you go back 3, 4, or 5 generations ... it all becomes very confusing when trying to do a family tree because not only do they come from the very same village but all the first names are the same as well AND the generations overlap too just to add a different twist to the confusion
Good Luck, and if I can give some insight and direction I'll be happy to help out
