I am also descended from Christian Veltin, through Johann Heinrich, son of Christian and Anna Margaretha Drion.
Johann brought his family to Philadelphia on the ship HAMILTON , Arriving October, 1767.His anglicized name is John Henry Felton.
His son, Godfrey (Gottfried) had a son Anthony b.1785, who started spelling it Felten.Anthony is my line of descent. He married Catherine Sink and fathered 21 children, 14 who married to produce 72 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren by the time of his death in 1866. When Catherine died in 1868, the obituary noted that out of 136 descendants, 89 were alive at that time.
BTW, Johann's wife, Maria Eve Gallman's parents were Jacob Gallman and Anna Catharina Christholder
I have names and dates for births, deaths and marraiges for Eve, Henry, Catherine, John Phillip, Godfrey and Christian.
I have a pretty comprehensive record of Godfrey's descendants, compiled by Clark S. Marlor, a cousin, in 1965.
I've only recently taken up my family's geneaology, and AFAIK, he was the last to do any real work on it.I have a letter where he states he can take the line back to 1625.
My Felten line kept close to Philadelphia and South Jersey for the most part.
