Feltz, Geske, Roewer, Tuer, Koepsell, Dammyer, Haligus
I am researching the above names in the northeastern part of Illinois. Herman Geske immigrated to Illinois abt. 1885 with his wife and children. In the 1900 census, Herman, his wife, a daughter named Mary,a son named Herman, and a son named Frank (my grandfather)and his first wife Nellie(Hitchcock) were living in Kane county. Frank and Nellie had the following children prior to her death at age 22 in 1905: Robert, George, Ethel and Roy. In 1908, Frank married Anna Feltz and they had the following children: Marie, Elmer, Raymond, Sophie, Bernice (my mother), Frank, and Elaine. Sophie married Fred Roewer. Marie married Raymond Tuer. I believe that Ethel married Edward Koepsell. Frank had a sister Minnie who married a Dammyer and a sister Mildred who married a Haligus. If anyone has any information to add to this I would be very grateful!!! I am not sure what part of Germany Herman and family came from. I also do not know what part of Germany Anna Feltz came from.
