I hope you're still looking, because I think I'm your cousin.According to information found on the Net, I believe that one Grover C. Ferdon b 1884, son of Edward S. Ferdon and Adaline Moore, married Grace Gephart b 1899.Grace was a daughter of Fred V. Gephart, and Fred was a brother of my great-grandfather, August Gebhard (the only one in the family who spelled the surname with a b and a d rather than a p and a t).
There is an obit for a Grover C. Ferdon, Jr., b 1922, d 1982, whose mother survived him. Her name at that time was Grace Long. The Social Security Death Index lists a Grace Long born 14 Apr 1899, died 22 Apr 1992.Grace Gephart's full date of birth was 14 Apr 1899.
It would be Grover, Jr. b 1922 who was your grandfather.
My grandmother, Alma Zetta (Gebhard) Smith, died in 1963 when I was a child, before my interest in genealogy.I've been searching for years and years, and only now am I beginning to find more relatives.I have found another descendant of Fred, through his son Raymond, and I have found a cousin who descends from Fred and August's half-sister, Emma (Gephart) Kramer.
Grover C. Ferdon b 1884 is in the 1920 Census, Hamilton County, Ohio, Springfield Township, with no family. It is hard to read, but I think it says he was widowed.Grace lived in Ross County, Ohio and Grover, Jr. died at Greenfield, Ohio.If I am correct, Grover Sr. must have married Grace about 1921.
Please let me know if you (or anyone!) can help me to trace this line.
