Re: Fergusons in 1700s New York
Hi.In your Family History of the Fergusons for the 1700s,do you have a listing of a David or Seneca, b. ~1760, in New York?He could have been born a little later.Anyway, he had a son, Charles, who was born in 1803 in New York.Charles had a son, James, born in 1828 in Oneida County, New York.
James moved to Wisconsin and married a lady named Jane Matteson in 1848.She died the next year giving birth to their only daughter, Jane Bright Ferguson.James remarried in either late 1849 or some time in the first half of 1850 to Jane (?).She died between 1870 and 1875.James remarried again to Mary Goble.James died in 1881 in the civil war in Meeker County, WI.
His second wife, Jane (?) had three children, Mary Jane b. 1856, Juliette b. 1859, and William Henry b. 1862.
I believe the children were born in Hartford, Washington County, WI.My great grandmother was Juliette.
Are any of these people familiar to you?Would you, by chance, know what Jane's maiden name was?
