I beleive that Olly is not the son of Alexander and Nancy Wood in Va and I have given this info to several people.Gene Hollingsworth, Thelma Mandenville, Helen Gomer Schluter, and several others (even some that are not kin) have been looking for Olly for over 35 years and I would like for the search to continue. This is "the one" that I always look-up his name in any book I pick up.I just discovered Olly in Pike Co, Ms in 1820 near a Samuel. This is where the Morris and maybe the Taylor families (whom I think belong to the mother of Drucilla Cook) moved to from GA. The Cook and Emory are in Lawrence Co.

If someone has proof that Olly of East Texas is the son of Alexander & Nancy, would you please post it.If you do not, please do not show the parents unless you tell people that you are not sure. In 1993 when I found that someone had Olly as their son, I contacted Christine Huddleston in Vinton, VA. She is the daughter of Edmund T Ferguson, Sr. who wrote "Ancestors & Some Families of Stephen D Ferguson and etc" She sent papers that listed the children of Alexander and Nancy and who they married. The third child listed was Otey born 7th May 1797. Otey married Polly Arrington 3rd Mar 1823: min. Moses reer -surety, Daniel Arrington.

Transcript of Nancy Ferguson will (wife of Alexander Ferguson) proved 7th of Oct 1839 Rocky Mount, Franklin Co, VA. After listing all her children she left one dollar each to children of her son Otey Feguson, dec'd .....Alexander, Elizabeth, Sarah, Absond?, Daniel and Otey.

I would think that this proves that this is not our Olly.

This is what I have on Olly A Ferguson:
