Re:Shelia West's message, on the ancestry of Johnathan Fesler, she is correct that due to an oversight, I may have mistakenly listed his mother as Mary Magdalene Leinbach instead of Amanda George.I do not have the dates of George Fesler's marriage to Amanda George, so it's possible that Johnathan is from that marriage.And father George Fesler may have been a product of the Andrew Fesler/Mary Clarke marriage.(Again, no dates for that marriage.)I apologize for accidentally contributing to the pool of genealogy misinformation that so frequently permeates the web!It's probably best if I just give you the info I have and let you interpret it for yourself.
Following is quoted information from the document I mentioned in my earlier message, prepared by Theophilus Dean Fesler in 1944.I have not followed up to personally verify any of this information.There are some typos in some of the name spellings, but I have copied the material exactly as it appears within the aforementioned document.

At the time of his death he was living on his plantation near Bethania, N.C.His will is on record in Stokes County, NC. dated April 8, 1811.He willed everything to his wife Mary (Mary Clarke), his second wife.The date of his marriage to Mary Catharine Jennings is not known but her name is mentioned in a Stokes County deed, December 3, 1805, when a tract of land inherited by her was sold.He was probably a Lutheran.His children were:

4.Mary Margaret (Pegge) who m John Henry Kaiser
5.Adam who m Judith Ray
The following birth records are found in the Moravian Church Register of Baptisms of children of friends and neighbors of the Bethania (N.Y.) Moravian Congregation, Moravian Church in America, Southern Province, Winston-Salem, N.C.

7.Susannah b May 3, 1775
8.John b April 20, 1779 m Catharine Christman Jan 11, 1802 Stokes Co.
9.George b. Aug 30, 1781 m Mary Magdalena Leinbach and Amanda George secondly.

He was b Aug. 30, 1781 Bethania, N.C.She was b Dec. 23, 1780 Bethania, N.C.Married Feb. 30, 1802 Stokes Co., N.C.She was d of Abraham Leinbach and Anna Fiedler.He was b Oct. 26, 1744 Oley, Pennsylvania, s of John and Catharine Leinbach of Oley, Pa., members of the Moravian Church.John Leinbach bought 2,000 acres of land in the Wachovia Tract in N.C. and lived but a year after coming here.His will is on record in Rowan Co.

Hugh Carver and his son, George Carver (Hugh Carver was a second cousin) gave testimony Nov. 12, 1884 at Isaac Fesler's pension hearing.Isaac Fesler was a Civil War soldier.See Fesler, Isaac Min. C.461,584 The National Archives, Washington, DC

10.George m Sarah Wiesman July 17, 1838 and Victor Rayl June 1, 1943.Both marriages and George Fesler's will are on record in Switzerland County, Indiana.
