Re: SAN LORENZO FESTAS
Sorry I couldn't answer your message sooner.
I don't know where Avellino Providence is either.Benevento is heading East from Naples into the mountains I'm told.San Lorenzo is probably quite small.
The only Angelo we have so far is a father and son by that name.T. Angelo Festa was the father of Francesco Festa (my gr-gr-grandfather) probably born about 1790.Francesco was born about 1810-1815.
Lorenzo Festa, Francesco's son, brought his family over about 1885-1890 and settled on the outskirts of Patterson, NJ.This is not far from the George Washington Bridge (perhaps 1 hr.)They were at 98 Murray Ave., Patterson at the turn of the century.
Several of the men in the family worked in the silk mills.
There were 8 children of Lorenzo and Angelina that we know of.More may have stayed in Italy of corse, or died young.
I have more info Let me know.
Perhaps both provence FESTA families were once part of a single family.
